Electrostatic painting is based on the basic law of electricity; opposites attract. The item to be painted is grounded (positive)and the paint is give a negative 94,000 volt charge. The target attracts the paint droplets. Instead of being sprayed on - the paint is actually plated on the surface. The electrostatic force is so powerful that it pulls the paint around corners, ensuring a smooth, even coat.
